The connection of an emissions place to the restaurant seemed unusual, but it did not deter me from trying their food. Inside the restaurant, I noticed that it was on the smaller side and appeared cluttered with speakers in the dining area. It seemed like the sound system would provide a good music experience when in use. The alcoholic drinks at the restaurant were quite enjoyable. However, my wife and I were extremely disappointed with the food. While I initially wanted to try their curry chicken, I was dissuaded by the description of the oxtails. Ultimately, my wife ordered the jerk chicken. The oxtails turned out to be hard, fatty, flavorless, and rubbery, making them the worst oxtails I have ever tasted. My wife's jerk chicken was overcooked and extremely dry, with a level of spiciness that even exceeded my preference for spicy food. The cabbage, which included green beans, corn, and peas, was a unique combination but lacked flavor. Additionally, the plantains appeared enticingly glossy but were unfortunately greasy when bitten into. Despite our disappointment with the food, our server was very pleasant. In a polite manner, we requested to-go boxes, enjoyed our drinks, and decided to distribute our meals to two homeless couples instead of discarding them. In the future, when searching for Jamaican restaurants, I will be more attentive to any red flags and trust my gut instincts.
The place seems so dead sometimes, people sitting down but they mostly work there or know the owners first time I went I got a curry plate and the food had no FLAVOR!!! Like how is this a Jamaican spot and the food this bland, I went a second time to give them a chance I got a plate with shrimp and man the flavor was slightly better but still bland but my shrimp was hella overcooked and thought I could even eat it and I paid like almost $20!!! I’m never getting food from them again the only thing good there food wise is the beef and chicken patties that’s it I would not recommend at all especially for those prices, you better off going to island spice it’s wayyyyyyy better.
