First you have the option of sitting inside or outside. I chose inside because it was beginning to warm up. I was seated a window facing table which I prefer and had a nice view of State Street. I ordered the omelet of the day ham onion pepper and cheddar which came with home fries and a fruit salad. The omelet was perfect and piping hot. The home fries were large cubed seasoned and brown on the outside and soft inside. I never had such large sized home fries like this and tasted wonderful!! The omelet was one of the best I ever had and then the fresh slices of watermelon big blackberries my favorite and strawberries too!! Nice to have some fresh fruit in between the savory bites. Topped it off with a coffee which was well made. Very filling meal but none the less I returned the next morning for breakfast and sat outside in the courtyard. The courtyard is canopied so you have protection from the elements. A Belgian waffle this time that was to die for. Crispy on the outside soft like angel food on the inside. A little syrup just enough blueberries big n fresh whipped cream home made and a dusting of powdered sugar and a good coffee again. I left happy and satisfied. The prices are very reasonable for food of this quality and in today's market. The hostess was the mostest pleasant and professional. The servers were attentive and also pleasant. And last but certainly not least my compliments to the chef!!!
We love it here. Everyone is always nice, smiling, and happy. The food is delicious, and you often see the owner/chef happily enjoying his craft. BYOB. Quaint location in Doylestown, and it’s cute to sit on the outdoor patio in nice weather too.
I recently visited for brunch and ordered a dish, which came to $17 with tax. Unfortunately, the meal was served cold, and I wasn't aware it would be. The main portion was very small—about 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches. My grandmother even remarked on how little food there was when it arrived. I left hungrier than when I started eating. While the dish was disappointing, I’m giving 3 stars for the lovely ambiance and the friendly staff.
Not sure why this place has such high ratings, it was okay. Staff are nice, everything else so so. We were seated in a dark hall on a hot day…it was hot. Me and my table mate were sweating. Tables cramped so that made it all more tight and hot feeling. Servers come up with food and expect me to clear a spot (there is no spot) for it which is just awkward. I’m not there to try to play Tetris. Food was good but quite pricy and not worth the pricing in my opinion. I’m sure it’s better on a cooler day it just wasn’t the experience and food quality I was hoping to have for having to make a reservation and paying $40 for an entree. Maybe I’d go back for brunch.
Great Food! Incredibly friendly and professional service! Our day started with excitement and huge expectations. Due to the weather, our plans got canceled and we were very dissappointed. We searched for a place to have dinner and found Genevieve 's Kitchen. We had to wait about 15min for a table... not bad. When our table was ready, they thanked us for our patience and escorted us with the warmest smile. Already our day started getting better. Menu was colorful and unique but with familiar ingredients. The food was amazing! The service staff was so so friendly! And they were so down to earth . I kept thinking, 'don 't they know how good their food is? ' By the time we finished dinner, my family was having a GREAT DAY! Yes, the restaurant saved the day for us. It meant a lot for me, as I wanted my wife and daughter to have a well deserved nice weekend. The entire team was willing and caring. Now the food!! I ordered Rock shrimp, Pork Belly, Lamb chops and Osso Bucco. Rock Shrimps: perfectly crispy without scarring the roof of my mouth. You can tell they use good quality oil to fry, because there is no awkward smell or after taste. Pork Belly: again Perfect texture!!! Crispy crust, soft meat. Gentle application of sauce. Meat was clean tasting, so they did not need to over power with the sauce. Osso bucco: every fork tender! Again, good clean meat flavor allowed a subtle sophisticated application of saucing. Seasoned carefully. Wild rice was a perfect match!!! The texture of the wild rice brought balance to the heavier meat. Much better balance than the traditional bed of rissotto. Lamb Chops: perfectly seasoned. Perfectly cooked. Looks like a lighter portion but it is a FILLING! Lamb was my favorite. Dear Genevieve 's Kitchen, Thank you for a wonderful night. No amount of good service would make up for mediocre food at a restaurant. On the other hand, we sometimes tolerate rudeness or unfriendliness when the food is worth it. But when the establishment serves first rate food with top class service, the fast, curteous, kind, friendly service that you offer tonight, it is enough to save the day! Your establishment is a gem. See you again! And again...
