The small museum plotting the history of the battle is informative and interesting with a visual presentation which was clear and informative. There is a beautifully maintained walled garden well stocked with colourful flowers and borders of lavender. There is a small shop selling the usual 'stuff '. The cafe/ restaurant is spacious with lots of outdoor seating.
We came to tour Knowth and New Grange, and got lucky on the food. Anyone interested in the archeological sites should definitely tour both sites. Very interesting tours, and spectacular views of the valley. We were pleased with the food, as we feared a typical snack bar situation. The food was good, and the entrees came with side dishes (We didn 't expect them to, so I felt like the stereotypical Gluttonous American going to our seat with a mountain of food! The feel is still like an airport or mall food court, but the food is good!!!
I went to the terrace bistro for dinner on a Tuesday evening with my girlfriend. Although not recommended by anyone, we decided to give it a try since we live nearby. The food was tasty and well priced, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the surroundings were beautiful on a sunny autumn evening. We definitely plan on returning.
Clean and good locker room classes on so check timetable jacuzzi and sauna too friendly staff stayed in hotel and pool opens early enough to go before breakfast
The food was very good the younger waitstaff need a little training...or perhaps they were in training need to listen to the customer and be accurate in their understanding of what is being ordered. we were a party of 2 couples and when we asked to split the bill, they had very difficult time in understanding the amount of what each couple asked to charge they need training in how to split the bill aside to splitting the bill they could not provide each of us with a receipt they need training in how to produce a receipt they did apologize for the challenge but should get trained because we cannot be the only people that ask to split the bill. overall we enjoyed the stay at BVH the concierges Jade, Laura and Damien were beyond helpful! on the morning of our departure, we had a taxi reserved for 8am and when we went for breakfast, we were told that on weekends breakfast starts at 8am...so we were a little disappointed in that the morning concierge was very helpful in getting us some coffee to have in our room...but then it turned out that at 7:30 they were serving and nobody told us...oh well nothing can be perfect we loved Ireland and will return!
