The Friendly Tavern - Du Bois

I walked in hoping to enjoy the advertised special, which boasted great prices to attract customers. They had a happy hour with $1 Naturdays from 5 to 7, and a dozen wings available at a reasonable price. However, to my disappointment, I discovered they had only one Naturday left at 5:15, just 15 minutes after the special began, and there were no wings at all. They hadn't even bothered to erase the promotional board, seemingly trying to keep the crowd coming in. When we inquired about alternative specials, the answer was a firm no. While they have a fantastic atmosphere for a trendy bar, the lack of management really detracts from the appeal. If I could give less than a star, I would. I definitely do not recommend this place!

When I called the waitress over to settle the bill, I seized the moment to ask the hostess about the Tiki Bar and if I could take a quick look. She smiled and directed me toward the door. As I opened the back door that led to a patio covered in plastic flaps, I peeked inside, only to be chastised abruptly for trying to enter the allegedly closed Tiki Bar. I matched her tone, explaining that I was merely trying to see what had initially attracted me to the restaurant. She then revealed that she was the owner and informed me that I didn't need to come back. I assured her I wouldn't and pointed out that her behavior was quite rude. I'm still taken aback by how poorly she treated her customers.

What is this place? It's advertised as an Irish pub, but it also features a tiki bar, which seems a bit odd. I should note that the tiki area doesn’t have a tap system—if you want a pint, they have to go inside to pour it. I can't comment much on the food since I only tried the appetizers, and they were rather disappointing. The beer I was served wasn't very cold and tasted flat. On a positive note, the staff was really friendly. I likely won't come back unless a friend really encourages me to.

I absolutely love the decor! The Tiki Bar has outdoor seating where you can play cornhole. This place is fantastic and conveniently located in Dubois!

First time here and we were very pleased! Food was delicious and service was awesome! I had the wings and they were crispy and delicious with several flavors to choose from. The Tiki bar is unlike anything in the area. Has the feel of an ocean get-away. The cocktails are delicious too!
