Bottega Toffoli - Dublin

Last Tuesday evening I met my other 2 foodies friends for a catch up dinner after a long time without seeing each other.<br/ <br/ It is already that time of the year in which Dublin reaches 8 degrees and its temperature doesn’t move from there until late spring.<br/ <br/ With the winter coat on I walked towards the mediaeval Dublin to meet the girls in a new and very unknown (thanks God) Italian restaurant.<br/ <br/ Toffoli is located in the hidden but quite centred Castle Street, just a few minutes away from Christ Church.<br/ <br/ Once you put a feet inside is like an instant trip to Italy and its traditional cuisine. It might sounds like a cliché, but Toffoli it’s not only about a couple of pizzas and a good red wine, it is as well about the whole experience of eating between its walls.<br/ <br/ With only 4 tables, an open kitchen and a fridge in the middle of the dinning room, Toffoli looks like the house of a real Italian Mamma. The only difference is that instead of a big woman bringing your pasta, an exquisite and extremely nice Canadian man makes all the roles of cook, waiter and restaurant manager.<br/ <br/ Regarding the Menu, one of my favourite things about this place is its short and simple selection of dishes. A couple of type of pizzas and pasta, some specialities of the house and a single choice of red, white or roseé wines.<br/ <br/ Anyway, if I can advise you something, don’t even open the menu. Just ask the Canadian men to “surprise” you with whatever he has available that night.<br/ <br/ His personal choice for me was Pappardelle with mushrooms, chicken and green asparragus with a natural sauce of white wine. #FoodPorn and nothing else to add.<br/ <br/ When I finished the last pappardelle I looked at the empty plate and I said: “Girls, I think I should start a food blog“.<br/ <br/ Bon Appétite!<br/ <br/ Grade: 8/10<br/ Price: €€<br/ <br/ [October, 2014]

If an Italian friend tells us that somewhere has fantastic pizza, listen. I'm glad I did. Definitely the best pizza I had in Dublin in a very long time. Very recommended Bottega Toffoli. Carlo is a nice host and makes the experience better. Molto gustoso.

Cosy little restaurant with character, great music, there was a real passion of the owner for the food that was delicious and made with love. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Give him 6 out of 5 stars

What a cozy place to spend our Sunday night. Owner/Chef/Servant was such a great and real character that made us feel when we were welcome at home. Can’t help to watch as he’s the role as cook that prepares our pizzas and could really see that he has his heart in them. There were even small edible flowers that were carefully placed there and the taste and quality was just excellent thanks for making our night
