Absolutely amazing! Scotch egg to die for, melting duck, adorable service, best pavlova in my life! Loved it.
Nice place Prices too high for the quality and taste of the food, altho it was really varied in just one dish. On the other hand, pavlova has to have a texture near a marshmallow not like a meringue, a shame because it was really good in taste but lost all the fluffyness and characteristic taste of it. Anyway, the attention was superbe and the beers were really good. Looking foreward to go back again and see an improvement because they have potential.
A solid elevated bar/pub grill, or rather based on the traditional to innovative menu, a fine dining restaurant minus the white tablecloth (we all know there’s an all too often unnecessary up-charge for that anyway). I have to mention the presentation, which was excellent, with various plates, jars and placement of dishes often not naturally presentable. Appetizers were delectable, though it’s the fist scotch egg I’ve ever (hence no reference for my palate). We had the collar of pork and fish chips. The pork was tasty and just right fatty and the fish moist requiring just the proper amount of fork pull to separate. Oh and the pork came with a black pudding bon bon (exactly what you’re imagining), omnivore bonus! Well done! This review is based on a February 2023 visit.
Food quality gone way down and portion size a little on the mean side
