The lobster is fresh but not the shrimps nor the scallops. The seafoods dishes are not flavorful both staters and chefs special) Do I want to come back next time I’m in Dublin? Probably not.
Everything about this place is old style including the entrance stairway to the second floor. The decor inside leads to a long gone time. The waiter brings a large platter of the starters to your table for you to view and gives an explains in detail the ingredients. The menu is amazing but I always choose fish as it has the best seafood in town. The waiting staff are extremely polite and efficient and treat you as though you are very special. Again there is a display of the desserts which are very tempting and it is difficult to choose as they all look so good. A thoroughly pleasant experience and it is one of my ‘go to’ places
Pre-rugby international lunch. I must confess that we are regulars before the matches, but living in Belfast puts us at a disadvantage compared to those of you in or visiting Dublin. Gary and the team took great care of us like royalty.
Located just outside Dublin's Old Town, The Lobster Pot is a chic and classic restaurant on the first floor. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, with plenty of silver and crystal decor. Specializing in French cuisine with a focus on seafood, we tried the homemade fois gras which was light and fluffy. For our main course, we ordered the house recommendation of sole fillets, lobster, and prawns in a white wine sauce. The sole and prawns were cooked perfectly, although the lobster was a bit tough. The sauce could have been more refined. The desserts were delicious, especially the raspberry meringue we shared. The service was professional, although a bit quirky at times. The restaurant was bustling with regular guests, reflecting the consistent quality. While the visit may not be cheap, the high-quality ingredients and excellent French white wine make it worth it. We enjoyed a lovely view of the other guests and had a memorable dining experience.
