Monto Cafe Camden Street - Dublin

The food is okay, not super good we expected more from the looks and prices. Some of the staff members were really nice, others not so. Sadly would not come again.

We decided to go to Monto for dinner after our all day tour. The restaurant was across the street from our hotel so it was convenient for everyone! The front desk made a reservation for us at 8pm. Good thing we asked for the reservation because we learned that the restaurant was BYOB. We purchased a few bottles of wine at the local convenience store prior to our reservation. When we arrived we were greeted by the nicest hostess/waitress Lydia. She was amazing since we were a party of 10! Everything was wonderful from the service to the appetizers, dinner and desserts! The cappuccino was also delicious! Everyone had something different and every meal was scrumptious. I highly recommend this restaurant it will not disappoint! A bonus would be having Lydia as your server!

We absolutely loved this restaurant! We had reservations for 12 at another nearby restaurant, but upon arrival we were told that restaurant had changed ownership and they had no record of our booking. I called Monto’s and explained our situation and with some good luck and quick action Monto’s was able to accommodated our large group within 10 minutes. The whole staff was so welcoming and friendly, especially Lydia who even brought some delicious garlic cheese bread to our table right away since the restaurant was so busy and the food would be a little of a wait. All twelve people at our table really enjoyed what they ordered which included salads, pizzas, lamb, steak and pastas. We could not have been happier with our experience, and I would more than recommend this restaurant for excellent hospitality and delicious Italian food while in Dublin.

A large group who were very very noisy spoiled our evening as we could barely hear ourselves above the din. Unfortunately when they left a similar group arrived. The fish cakes were OK. I had the Chicken Arrabiata, yes, the menu said it was spicy but I think the chef went a bit OTT with the chilli. So avoid anything that says spicy unless you want that burning feeling in your mouth. The Corkage of €4 is very reasonable. Service was pleasant and efficient. Check the A La Carte prices before you decide to have the set price 2 course meal.
