The lounge was elegant and relaxing, but what really made the atmosphere special was Conrad, the charming and striking barman. Not only did he serve us a delicious red wine, but he also made sure we indulged in a magnificent chocolate treat and a delicious cappuccino. Every hotel should have a Conrad! We will definitely be returning soon. Dubliners should make sure to check out their own local hotels as well.
Tomasso is located in the Wynn's Hotel on Lower Abbey Street. While the restaurant looks impressive from the outside, it doesn't quite meet expectations. The ample private space between tables is a plus, but the placement of coffee sauces on window benches or shelves creates a strange atmosphere. The open kitchen is decent, and the staff is friendly. The food is plentiful, with my main course being fish on a bed of mashed potatoes with roasted potatoes, boiled potatoes, carrot puree, and creamed carrots on the side. The portion was too much for me, and my sister had the same sides on her plate. The wine prices are reasonable. Although it is good value for money, it wasn't quite what we were looking for.
