Amnesia Wednesdays says it all. 2.50€ drinks. Was here a few times to watch world cup matches, they do have deals on other days, not as good as wednesdays. there is also a cover charge after 9pm of 5€. The inside/upstairs is really nice and perfect for watching matches, no matter where you look there is a tv. There is also an outside, seated area for smoking, which I really like. I haven 't been downstairs to the night club, however, it sounds super loud if you are still upstairs from 11pm. But overall I quite like this place, it can get quite busy, meaning standing up but really good atmosphere when a match is on, a bit more fancy looking than the woolshed for matches
The atmosphere is pleasant, and there are plenty of TVs if you're coming to catch a game. Prices are reasonable, and they offer a great selection of cocktails.
Since it wasn't too busy, we had the pleasure of chatting with two of the nicest bartenders I've ever encountered: Eveleen and Darragh. She was Polish, and he was Irish, and they had a great back-and-forth trying to outperform each other while making our cocktails. I would honestly come back just for their delightful service. We started with the Classic Martini (€10), a sophisticated drink that's essentially just pure alcohol with olives. I learned that a 'dirty' Martini is made by adding a little of the juice from the olives—something I had never known before. It was a bit strong for my taste, but R finished it off without hesitation. Next up was the refreshing Rosy Cooler (€10), which combined vodka, muddled strawberries, fresh mint leaves, lime wedges, syrup, and was topped with apple cider. This was a truly delicious cocktail, bursting with fruity flavors from the strawberries and a nice tang from the cider. I then ordered the Skittle Martini (€5), which was made with Skittle-infused vodka, orange liqueur shaken with orange juice, and topped with Grenadine in a Martini glass. It was sweet but quite tasty—I'd probably only manage to drink about three of those in one sitting! R chose the more masculine Whiskey Sour (€8), made from whiskey, fresh lemon juice, and egg white. I'm usually not a fan of whiskey cocktails, but this one was an exception—strong but very drinkable. To round off our evening, we both opted for the Honey Comb (€8), which combined Baileys, Mickey Finns butterscotch, fresh cream, milk, and was topped with chocolate flakes. Our lovely bartender even garnished it with some fruit and arranged the chocolate flakes in heart and star shapes. It was decadently good, but like the Skittle Martini, I wouldn't want to overdo it—it's like drinking a box of chocolates! Overall, it was a fantastic visit, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Well, color me surprised! I think I've discovered the world's best cocktail (other than the Long Island Iced Tea, of course): the Skittles martini. Absolutely delightful! And it’s only five dollars, but the proportions are just fantastic. Can anyone else back me up on this? I believe a cosmopolitan glass can hold no more than 200 ml at most. If only there were a centralized knowledge hub we could rely on as a society to verify this. Imagine a comprehensive source of global data, accessible to anyone at the push of a button... equipped with established protocols for data transfer, secure authentication methods, and reliable redundancy checks. Ah well, a person can dream!
