Inside was very clean, I was greeted and seated right away! I looked over the menu before I got there but about a couple minutes of seating the waitress came to me to order already so I felt a little rushed, but it wasn't a big deal. She served me with lime water and the side soup which was good. Their water without lime was really good too, because sometimes other people's water tastes funny but the water here is really good. I ordered the number 51 beef and rice, and the flavor was delicious. I loved how juicy the meat was and it came out really fast! This is a good spot for large groups and people on lunch because they serve the food hot and fast! Within 10 minutes of sitting my food came right out and that's good for people who need to be in and out! My only complaint is having to flag the ladies down for a refill on water; they were sitting next to me by the door and I kept trying to get their attention as they were chit chatting so I had to come out of my seat to ask for water, but the minute they heard and saw me they were sweet and game me another full cup of ice water, so thank you Pho Saigon you gained a regular customer!
I've been to this place many times and don't know why it's taken me so long to leave a review. This place might be one of the better options for Vietnamese around (although the Peninsula has some of the best). I have yet to try the corona outdoor seating setup. I usually go with a standard pho and grilled chicken over rice plate for the kiddos. The pho is nice, but for takeout, I always reheat the broth to get it back to piping hot, and try to recreate the restaurant presentation by pouring everything into a huge bowl. I get it pretty close, and the taste is real nice. The broth is excellent on most days, although I've had it on some where it's less than potent. The mix ins were standard fare. But everything mixed together is just great. Especially on a cold winter night. The chicken is pretty decent. I find it a little dry, but the kiddos love it. Especially when some of the rice is smothered in pho juice. If the kids like it, that means daddy doesn't have to worry about dinner for them. Win. So yeah, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
They don't have overwhelming menu. The food is good my friend had soup and I had the grilled pork chop. Staff was friendly and place is clean. They have a cute outdoor dining area where we stayed.
The Great George F of San Ramon pointed me in the direction of Pho Saigon. I took a look at the Yelp reviews and found my other peeps with great comments. Ordered the Grilled Pork Chop Combo and a BBQ Pork Wonton and Noodle soup using the Yelp app. All ready and packaged well to travel. The pork plate was indeed delicious. Good seasoning with plenty of veggie condiments and vermicelli noodles. The wonton came deconstructed and was easy to assemble. Nice flavored broth and topped off with cilantro, bean sprouts, a lime with a hoisin packet. I don 't really pho, so this was just perfect for me. Definitely a 5 star carry home dinner!
SERVICE It was pretty packed around 8:00PM on a Saturday night! The servers made room for us at a table that they were using for to-go orders, but quickly switched us to a table near the back. We got our food in a little under 10 minutes, so the service is pretty quick! You can use card to pay, so that's also a plus. ENVIRONMENT You'll find it in a plaza with a bunch of other restaurants, so there's ample parking. The restaurant seemed to be fairly clean. The only downside would be that the light above is kept flickering, but that's a minor detail. FOOD I ordered the #1 and it was standard pho. The $10.95 price point for a large seemed to be on the pricier side, but I'm not sure how this compares to similar restaurants in the area. There was a good amount of meat and noodles in the soup, and the broth tasted average. The people I was with had rice plates, and those were pretty small for their price point. The Thai Iced Tea was a little too watered down for my taste. For the amount of people that were there, I was expecting to it to be out of this world. It's really just ok. If you're in the mood for Vietnamese food, for sure check this place out. The food isn't bad by any means, but I think I will check out some other spots due to the price and size of portions.
