Village Inn - Dubuque

The only reason I gave them 1 star is because they did my eggs right. My sister invited me to go to the Village Inn Restaurant for breakfast this morning September 1, 2022. I asked the waitress if I could order 2 eggs, some corn beef hash, and a slice of toast. She said oh yes that is actually on the menu. I said okay. My sister ordered the Cornbeef hash and eggs For $13.55. It came with 2 eggs, hash browns with cheese, 2 buttermilk pancakes, and toast. When our bill was handed to us it showed my meal as $15.00. So, when we asked about the ridiculous price of my meal she says "Oh well that 's because it is on the ala carte menu. I repeated back to her about it be one on the menu. She said no it is all the Al 's carte. When I asked her about seeing the menu she quickly said they don 't ha an ala carte menu. What the hell. I will never darken there doors again. Not friendly, too busy. Understaffed. No one even checked to see if my meal was okay. Waited 30 minutes for a box to take home left overs. Definitely NEED more waitresses. Meal wasn't too bad. Pancakes where small. Size of lid on cottage cheese container. SMALL. Poor management. It used to be great under original owner. He would walk around and greet EACH table. Not anymore after he retired. Won't go back again.

Very disappointed with the omelet. It seemed to be made with liquid eggs. Didn't have a good tooth feel like one made with fresh eggs.

Came for dinner 8 22 22 and not many other customers inside. austin was our waiter. he was friendly at the beginning/right when we got our food. I didn't ask myself if I wanted to refill or dessert (I planned both). they burn my toast/was hard. chat more time with the kitchen staff (with listening distance and vision) or sit with other customers (which must be regular). when I go to a restaurant, I would like to have the feeling that it is a good experience and that all customers are important, not only the masters they could see every day and have they stopped eating the children on Monday/service for free? was calculated at the full price.

Friend brought me here for the first time and it was better then 100% deb is a phenomenal waitress and honestly everything was perfection service, speed and eating. To be honest, everyone and everyone who is in a position should try. highly recommended!
