Probably our third or fourth visit to this fairly new Costa. Service on this occasion was particularly poor. Cafe wasn't to full capacity but despite 3 staff on the counter they seemed to be struggling. Tables were left dirty with used cups and plates. When we ordered we had to repeat the order twice to a spaced out young man, had to ask for napkins twice, while he then forgot our toast and threw the receipt away so we had to produce our to prove we'd ordered it.
The restaurant had dirty tables with trays, plates, and cups scattered everywhere. It seemed like none of the tables had been wiped down. If there were no clean tables available, you had to clean one off yourself or sit at a dirty table and clean it. The staff seemed to have nothing to do, as there were not many customers, but they were not cleaning either. The toilets were also dirty and in poor condition. I couldn't enjoy my meal or drink because I was so distracted by how unclean the restaurant was. Overall, the experience was unpleasant and I don't plan on returning due to the laziness of the staff and the unsanitary conditions.
Cafe is very clean, modern looking. Good choice of treats too. However it's very slow service and staff seem to go by a script and that's it, there's no pleasantries and with just one order Infront of me it took nearly 15 minutes just to get 2 coffees.
Popped in for a takeaway coffee and was not disappointed. The store was clean and the staff were friendly and professional. The drink made was amazing. Would be coming back here again.
