Fresh fries are always good. Here, however, there are delicious poutins in various versions from vegetarian to real deal. Particularly recommended are the sweet potatoes.
I had heard there was a new store called Frittenwerk and wanted to go. I love Pommes. And it was a good idea to go there, the frits tasted very well and you could also make molten cheese over it. So whoever didn't try it should definitely do it. It tastes really great and the service was also friendly.
Several times we had passed the fries and couldn't go in because we always had to get to a temin. Here at golocal several good reviews were written, which made us more and more want to eat there sometime. Also on Saturday we had already passed when we moved our follow-up date and entered the premises. The lady who picked up our order and ran the cost for it was friendly and also asked if we wanted to drink something for dinner. We've been served fast without we've been cut. Then we had to wait at the other end of the counter for the completion of our order. Before us, two orders were already processed and after us there were several people who ordered food. And here comes a little criticism: Only one person processed the order and before the counter the customers were now mixed in colour. There was no real order here with a few customers. What happens when everything's full? Because the day was quite warm, both doors were opened. On the one hand, this was good for the climate in the room, but unfortunately it was also quite loud through the street noise. The ordered burglars were then provided to us on a tray in Papschale on the counter. This is not a hindrance to the taste, but if you want to eat here in the restaurant, it would be better if plates and forks were available, which can be reused. The housekeepers were quite warm even to the end. The taste was very good. If we're close again, we'll try another variant.
I've been to the fries twice. It is located at the S-Bahn stop Bilk, down the stairs, right. The ambience is quite nice. Modern furnishings, no cheap snack bar optics. There are both indoors and outdoor seating. There is not only the normal curry sausage in the fries, but also Poutine, a Canadian fast food specialty. Poutine is pommes with cheese pieces (here Mozzarella) plus roast sauce. According to the website, the meat seems to originate from free-land farming or at least from animals with pasture, which is very pleasing compared to other fries. The animals are reared in a manner appropriate to the species with a great deal of freedom of movement on the pastures on the Lower Rhine. So far we had ordered Poutine and Frittenwerk Spezial (without onions). The prices appear to be high at first glance, but the portions are quite large. The poutine tastes quite monotonous, which is probably the Mozzarella. A spicy cheese would certainly be more interesting or a sausage. The Frittenwerk Spezial actually tastes very well, but I think in the future I prefer to take only one curry sausage with pommes, as the Mozzarella m.E. adds nothing tastefully. All in all, I am satisfied with the quality of food. The pommes are appropriately crispy, the sausage delicious. The sauces were fine. The curry sauce has not tasted for ketchup with cheap curry powder or spice ketchup – but could have been a bit more fruity for my taste. What I don't like is waste production. It would be nice if there were plates and cutlery for the guests who want to eat locally. 4 stars and certainly worth a visit (if you like Pommes and/or Currywurst).
