A visit is always worthwhile, the price-performance ratio for the lunch menu is very good
A strong overall presentation was delivered here! Of course, I don't know if there is still a jump in the big Grandmakase menu in the evening, but what was presented here by Nagaya-san in front of Japanese high kitchens with congenial sprinklers from the European kitchen tradition was creatively sophisticated and consistently at a high level of demand. The sauces were tasted well.
The usual description that the Nagaya brings together European and Japanese cuisine. In some courses the connection is excellent. This applies in particular to aroma combinations. However, I do not understand why one does not rely more on the effect of pure product taste in some courses. Since I could not recognize a quality difference in the fish and seafood used for Yoshi, I would personally prefer the traditional Japanese style of Yoshi to the somewhat softened purism of Nagaya. With regard to objectivity, both restaurants pursue a somewhat different stylistic orientation, but are qualitatively on the same level, only right when you look at the cheaper price in the Yoshi. Nevertheless, this was a very pleasant and successful evening in Nagaya.
We liked Yoshizumi Nagaya's kitchen. Its dishes are characterized by a very precise aesthetic, excellent product quality and a lightness that goes through the entire menu. Stylistic we are actually very common in European proximity, but by some very targeted ingredients in each course the Japanese context is always produced. Even if the large Grandmakase menu can present itself more demanding and demanding in the evening (then more expensive), this lunch was a perfect entry into the aroma world of Nagaya for us.
