We had a great family dinner here on a Saturday night. There are good child-friendly options on the menu. The food was hearty and excellent quality. Service was also excellent. Although we don't speak much German, we had no problems. Very recommended.
Simply walked over from the hotel and although it was not an English breakfast, served the waiter, but an egg bacon pilz Omelette washed with coffee has made our visit pleasant and prices friendly
Staying in the Nikko, having an indifferent stomach, i asked the Reception where I could find some soup. They told me to try restaurants across the street, but warning me that they were all japanese. As I walked the restaurant block, I was pleasantly surprised...to find an Indian Menu on the outside. I have never eaten Indian food on the mainland Europe ever before so was fascinated by the Dal that seemed to be a trifle expensive at 11.60 e. Having no choice I walked in- a small bistro practically empty at the early evening time. As I ordered the dal and wanting to add a roti and some rice-the person taking the order told me it came with rice anyway. Before I knew it there was curd, chutney and a couple of papads on the table. And when the dal came I was plesantly surprised to find the fried rice in such a huge quantity that if I starved for a day before going I wont be able to finish it. Everything was fairly ordinarily cooked and presented like an Indian dhaba- but boy! the food was finger licking delee-shus!! In my language SWAAD! And enough for 2. For simple home-cooked food, the place was great. No wonder it was filled up completely by the time I finished. A word of service though- very cold and indifferent. No one came once to ask me how the food was or if I needed anything else. May be the owner who has reportedly been in the country for 40 years has been Germanised!! Anyway, I will check out the place next time I am in town when my stomach can take the kebabs etc and see how it goes-and take a friend as it works out cheap if there are 2 or more
I stumbled upon this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Tasty and flavorful food with a pleasant atmosphere. We ate the typical Indian staples, pakora, samosa, nan, biryani, and a few other curries, which were all delicious. An added bonus was a larger projector screen so...we could watch the World Cup. Overall, a great meal with authentic Indian food just two stops from the Altstadt.
