Balch Bistro - Dufur

I had a wonderful experience at the Balch last Friday! The staff was friendly and attentive, the rooms were charming, well-equipped, and spotless, and the check-in process was easy. There's a rich history nearby, with the Barlow Trail and the Dufur Historical Society just a short walk away. While there aren't many other activities in Dufur, that's part of its charm! If you’re visiting The Dalles, I definitely recommend taking a short drive to spend the night at the Balch Hotel!

This is the most charming place I've ever visited. I just want to wander around and absorb everything. The staff and owners were incredibly friendly and inviting. I can't wait to return!

A true gem restful, charming and the owners and all who work at the Balch Hotel are a delight. In an age of chain hotels, the opportunity to step away from electronics and enjoy conversation, hiking, biking, wine tasting or simply to crack open a good book is a treasure. Absolutely love this place.
