I visited this restaurant and was impressed by the delicious food and wide variety of options. The separate menu for vegan and gluten-free choices with detailed ingredient explanations was a nice touch. The meal was both healthy and enjoyable. The service was exceptional, deserving more than five stars! As a food critic, I highly recommend this restaurant in Duluth, GA to vegetarians and vegans.
A few years ago, we dined at this restaurant and recently returned for another visit. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our experience. The Puris in the dahi puri were stale and the gravies and chutneys were watered down and unappetizing. The windshield wiper makhani dish had very few windshield wipers and the gravy lacked flavor. The Coconut Rava Dosa was decent, but the sambar and chutney were diluted. The rice was overcooked and the Gobi Manchurian had an excess of food coloring. The service, however, was good. The portions were also overpriced for what was offered.
Udipi Cafe has been under New Management since the end of 2016. It is family owned and very FAMILY/Cimmunity friendly. A new menu offers vegan, gluten free and jain (no garlic/no onion options). All menu options are customizable and if you do not receive the best service, the owners will intervene immediately to ensure that you have the best experience. The ambience is updated with music video for a lively atmosphere, new traditional but chic decoration and impeccable hygiene. The goal is to inspire all your five senses of taste, touch, seeing, hearing and smell. The outer seats are also present.
I frequent the buffet at the Upidi in Smyrna so I thought this one would be comparable. There 's no buffet here. I was told by the waiter that everything in one section of the menu was no diary but on closer inspection I saw items with cheese. After inquiring again I was told that most items had either butter or cheese. He did not offer to make these items vegan for me. I ate a crepe that was vegan-friendly and good, but I do not know that I will return here anytime soon.
