It was by far the worst scone I have ever had in my 70 years of life, and that's saying something. The scone was so hard that it could probably be used to build a house. It was inedible and seemed overpriced. To add insult to injury, it was served in a paper bag with a disposable wooden knife that could barely cut through it. The coffee, although served in a paper cup, was the only redeeming factor of the experience. However, the total bill came to over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I was disgusted by the poor quality of the food and service, and I will definitely not be returning to this café in the future.
Truly awfull experience, visited with friends on a Saturday lunchtime, staff were very unwelcoming and standoffish, hot chocolate had to be sent back as it was served lukewarm. Mac'n'cheese was ok but came with nothing else just a bowl of mac n cheese served in a white bowl. Chilli and rice was horrid.. tasteless, lacked any body and quite sour. The cafe was freezing had to sit and eat with our coats on. Overall a unpleasant experience. Will not be revisiting
This cafe sells great coffee and cake. We had the most delicious carrot cake which we scoffed without coming up for air.
We took a drive out from Dumfries round Glencairn to Moniaive where we stopped for a wander in the late summer sunshine. Decided to pop in to GlenWhisk café as it was dog friendly. It doesn't look like much from the main street but inside is spacious and there is a large outdoor seating area as well. Extensive menu and some specials from which we had an all day breakfast and a haggis and cheese toastie. There were even some dog treats for Glen
