The Merchants House - Dumfries Galloway

We stayed in Crainryan and decided to have dinner at this restaurant, which was convenient since we were staying next door. Having our evening meal here allowed us to enjoy a drink or two. The atmosphere was friendly and the people were brilliant. We really enjoyed our night. The food was delicious and this place is a must-visit, even if just for a drink and to meet great people.

The Auld Cairn Bed and Breakfast made a reservation for us at the Merchant House restaurant. The fish and chips were fantastic. Fiona made sure to accommodate my food allergy, and Al entertained us with wonderful stories throughout our meal.

Alan and Fiona were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. After a long journey, all we desired was some tea and a cozy bed, and they certainly provided both. The fish and chips were excellent and the room was cozy and spotless. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you once more.

Had enjoyable bar snacks here when staying at the Auld Cairn next door. Very friendly place. I think you need to book to get dinner but the bar snacks menu suited all of us anyway.

A great night stop over following our ferry journey. The owners were very friendly, welcoming and were grrat ti chat to about the area and our onward journey. The place was clean and breakfast was tastey.
