I recently enjoyed the Vegan Breakfast at The Boathouse, and it was honestly one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. It wasn't just the typical basic fare; they offered vegan sausage, bacon, and haggis (which was amazing), as well as tofu scramble. I will definitely be coming back! It’s truly a gem in an area that doesn’t have many vegan options. Plus, it's dog-friendly and situated in a beautiful location.

I’ve lived just 20 minutes from this restaurant for the past 18 months, and I finally visited for the first time the other day with my partner. I had the vegan breakfast, and it’s been on my mind ever since. I genuinely believe it’s the best vegan food I’ve ever had. The cooked tomatoes were still on the vine, the tofu scramble was excellent, and the sausages and black pudding were absolutely delicious. Everything was crafted with such care and attention. The service was outstanding as well; the staff were incredibly friendly. I can’t wait for my next visit to Glencaple. I couldn't recommend it highly enough!

We’re really impressed with the quality of food the homemade vegan haggis is delicious and the tofu scramble isn’t trying to be scrambled eggs, it’s just really well cooked, really well seasoned. The cafe is lovely and feels bustling but not busy. Lovely, attentive staff.

Updated May 2022 They are now open Mondays. If you want to eat inside best to book as they get busy. New menu spring 2022, still got the pancakes, a full vegan cooked breakfast, vegan options for various things, chunky sandwiches, and vegan cheesecake. Dog friendly outside, and 1 table inside is allowed to have dog there. Previous review: Visited with friends, and their menu had a lot to choose from. I opted for the buddha bowl and it comes with bread with vegan spread. Others had the salad bowl and something else. The salad and buddha bowls were made up of lots of different things, and was really pleased to see tofu on the menu! Will need to go back to try more of the menu, including the cakes. Light and airy space indoors (too hot to eat outdoors with hayfever sufferer). Updated from previous review on 2021 07 22
