Billy Sims Barbecue - Duncan

I'm really disappointed because we used to have great experiences here. Unfortunately, the three visits we made this year were all frustrating. The owner was quite nice when I reached out after the first bad experience and even sent me a gift card to make up for the issues we faced. However, during our two subsequent visits, we encountered problems again. On our first return, one of the dishes was missing, and today, I asked for spicy sauce but received nothing, along with a lack of cutlery and napkins, which seems to be a persistent issue. I don't think they've been offering these essentials for at least a year. I typically take my meals home, so I can manage without forks or napkins, but not having the BBQ sauce or sides is a real inconvenience. At this point, I'm not sure if we'll be coming back.

Billy Sims' smoked meat is simply divine. The ribs are juicy and slightly caramelized from the flame. You can add sauce if you want, but honestly, I don't feel the need because the taste of the meat itself is so good. It's clear they start with high-quality meat and know how to cook it perfectly. As for the sides I've tried, I can personally vouch for the potato salad and mac and cheese; they are delightful, though I can't speak for the rest of the offerings since they aren't suitable for me. Overall, it's delicious! But for me, the main attraction is the meat. I suppose some of us are just set in our ways—there's no doubt that I’m a dedicated carnivore. I don't mind what others choose to eat; that's their business. Just keep your hands off my ribs, or we might have to settle this outside!

We ordered 3 meals for DD. I 'm certain when you eat in the restaurant they give you way more in portion size than take-out. Not only did my sliced brisket have chopped brisket but there wasn 't even enough meat to cover the entire bun. My potato salad that came with the meal was watery and looked as if it had been sitting way too long on the counter instead of the usually fresh creamy style that is usually served inside. One of our other meals was supposed to have chopped brisket but it had shredded beef (or pork, not sure which) on the baked potato. And the 3rd meal also didn 't have a good portion of meat on the bun either. It 's sad when you pay a decent price but the restaurant isn 't respectable enough to care about the quality of food they serve.

Their customer service always is horrible.. have attitudes... salads are sometimes decent, yet the more I order, the more yellow spines from the bottom of the bag make up the whole salad. It would be nice to get a green salad when they cost $10 ... the 2 meat meal... don't waste your money.. $15 and if you want hotlinks, they literally give you 2 tiny hotdog looking things.. just very disappointing...

I always have a wonderful experience at this place, and the ribs are simply incredible! It's definitely a BBQ spot you must visit!
