However, my wife, who is recovering from surgery, did not want anything too rich or painful to eat. I must say, the restaurant we chose was efficient but the food was bland and generic. We do not eat meat, so it is possible that the meat options are much better, although I doubt it. I chose the vegan option which was a lentil, sweet potato, cauliflower dhal with coconut, puppodum, and dairy-free curried yogurt. I also asked for rice on the side, which they did provide, but I found it odd that it was not offered initially. The dhal started off pleasant but became bland and unpleasant as I continued eating, and the dairy-free yogurt was disappointing. My wife was satisfied with her seafood dish, but the fish cake was lackluster. The meal was over £50, which I found to be poor value for such mediocre food. A few nights later, we ate a meal at home for just £5 more, which was much better. I don't think this restaurant is a good option for dinner, so I would recommend looking for alternatives. I usually do not like to leave negative reviews, but that was our experience.
The dining experience was excellent at this restaurant. The chef is brilliant and I highly recommend eating here for the quality of the food. However, the service was a bit slow and the staff could use a bit more training.
We were greeted promptly and seated quickly, but then had to wait 25 minutes for our starters to arrive. Unfortunately, our starters were mistakenly taken to another table before being brought to us. However, after a short delay, our starters finally arrived. Overall, two errors were rectified.
I was in the hotel so decided to eat twice in the restaurant. I'm always a little bit comprehend eating in hotel restaurants, I really want to go and explore the city. but it was a very hectic week, and I was also tired of doing this and I must say it was probably one of the best decisions on this trip. the restaurant is quite large and offers a fantastic view. the food was really delicious and obviously boiled to house, no microwave in itself! the seafood plate is quite large and everything on it was delicious. it was served on a wooden board in the shape of fish, I thought that was quite funny the staff always ensured that I had everything I needed, very friendly and attentive. I would like to eat here again and try the rest of the menu, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
Having been disappointed with other eateries locally that we could walk to, we decided to try this restaurant in the Invercarse hotel. I have to say from the moment we arrived the service was outstanding. Plenty of staff available and all very pleasant. On arrival...the drinks waiter asked if we would like a drink whilst looking at the menu, this was delivered promptly. The food was well cooked and presented and extremely good value. The wine was well priced and good. The venue is a little sparse, but all in all we had a lovely evening and will return. In short, I would recommend a visit here, being in a hotel it isn't somewhere that one might think of going, but it is well worth a visit.
