We tried the bacon and banana pancakes, as well as the pancake of the month: Earl Grey peach. We also added a small serving of chocolate for an extra $1.50, and that was definitely a worthwhile addition. If you're Asian like us, you might find a full stack a bit too much, so we opted for half. You absolutely have to visit this place!
Their specialty is incredibly delicious and gigantic pancakes. These hefty pancakes are perfect for breakfast or brunch. While the rest of the menu is also worth exploring, be sure not to miss out on their signature dish. They serve breakfast and brunch all day, from 11 AM until late.
Brilliant breakfast. Also serve gluten-free options for celiac patients. Great to bring kids, but too full when you have infants. Very popular in Dunedin and probably the best capers that I previously combined in Australia and New Zealand.
Great place to brunch. The works had everything I would like in a hearty breakfast. Coffee was excellent. Waiting was minimal even though it was busy.
Capers is probably one of the best cafes in Central Dunedin! It’s spacious and the staff are welcoming. There’s a wide variety of food and drinks to choose from. The pancakes there live up to their fame, especially the current pancake of the month (cookies and cream). Finally, the 2 for 1 pancake Rad1 deal makes it well worth the visit! The only downside is that they close the kitchen around 2pm.
