Contribuisci feedbackSaturday night dinner at Zucchini Brothers for three of us. We decided to concentrate on the specials and what a good decision that turned out to be. We started with the mozzarella from Nelson salad. Not as good as the Clevedon Buffalo mozzarella but still very good. That was followed by the prawns, asparagus and lemon spaghetti which was sublime and we will be back to try that dish again! Another advantage of Zucchini Brothers is that you can take your own wine so we raided the wine cellar and a 2001 Sesti Brunello and a 2004 Barolo. Only down side with the restaurant is that it can get quite noisy and the artworks boring.
The aroma of Italiana greets you as you walk through the door, closely followed by the greeting by the staff. Website suggested you book, and that's a great idea. Even on a Tuesday night, it got busy quite quickly.Nice and warm, great service and excellent, honest food. We had one of their 20-odd pizzas on offer and it was great. A large size easily feeds 2 unless you are awfully hungry).Visitor, student or local, great place to.eat.
This place serves fresh pasta. It feels like homemade pasta to me. My favorite dish is their Carbonara with bacon. The taste is not like authentic Italian but it is tasty. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. The staffs are friendly too.
The decor of this place is so lovely, warm and inviting! Lots of wood, fire and candles. It's a very aesthetically pleasing restaurant, albeit it a bit dark- but thats just my own preferences.<br/ <br/ Came in as a group last night for a birthday dinner. We had 4 different large pizzas. We had 2 number 20s, 5, 1, and 19.<br/ <br/ Number 20 is always a safe option, cranberry and chicken is a good convo, just didnt much care for the sploches of cream cheese which was very concentrated in one area rather than spread around. Number 1 was the hawaiian, fool proof choice, I didnt try it but I'm sure it was more than adequate. The best pizza was the 5 definitely! Not for someone who cant handle spice. It was perfectly good heat for us with chili flakes and jalapeneos, and was something I'd never tried before somewhere else.<br/ <br/ In general the pizzas are on the smaller side, especially for the price. We paid $27.50 for a large size and they still looked quite regular, slightly bigger than a dominos or pizza hut pizza. They were served nicely though on wooden boards.<br/ <br/ Overall a nice place, with good attentive service. Our water jugs were replaced very quickly. The service isn't overly nice, but they do their job well which is all i really expect. Service time can be a bit slow, but my visit was during a packed saturday night, so was reasonable.
Vintage and warmAtmosphere and interior, friendly staff and great pizza and pasta. Went a couple of times with large groups, staff handled the group well. Pizzas really filling, seems small in size but always surprisingly full. Abit pricey end however good value for money , atmosphere and flavour make it all understandable. If I had to choose a favourite it would be a toss up between the ravioli and pumpkin penne. Both super good !!!
