Contribuisci feedbackOur service was slow but there were at least 2 if not 3 wedding parties at the Fenway when we were there so that may have certainly contributed to the slow service level. Our server was very pleasant, it was just a long wait for our food.
We are native and were often in the dachbarian and decided to try hew. we are pleased that the renovations were complete (our reservation included information that the dining room was closed and that the seats were only in the lobby and in the outside areas). it was much more casual when we had expected and the sitting was comfortable. we both ordered burgers. I was a little over boiled, but they were good. the fries were hot and fresh and well seasoned. the spargel was a super-egg. the service was great; it was attentive, without being overlaid. in general we would go back.
Noise level, since energetic is misleading. the noise level in this restaurant is harmless. we could not hear our waiter and could not hear each other (party of 4). this is the fifth time that we have distorted in the hew parlor chophouse and we have suffered similar noises in the past. the facility of this restaurant is deliberately underlined and the vibe is rather at a beautiful place to breakfast and not at a place for fine eating. the Entree selections are expensive. I ordered scallops (market price) but should first have asked what the market price was. only when the bill arrived, I discovered that my 5 scallop escaped was $55- more than even the steak entrees! supplements (columns and brussels) were spiced up (dink salt). there was no brotservice and salate were a la carte. a very disappointing culinary experience.
Thanksgiving dinner was amazing. The food was cooked to perfection and not bland or over seasoned. There was so much food that we will enjoy it again tomorrow
Sometime a chef becomes too enthusiastically creative and while I am an eclectic eater smoked lamb shank with BBQ sauce just lost me. And I would have eaten it if the meat was not over-smoked to the point of dryness. The noise level is pretty high, and the ambience is rustic and not even attempting to match the prices.
