I highly recommend the Tropical Twist with Mango boba poppers – it's truly the best boba drink I've ever had! Made from real fruit and run by a family, this place surpasses others like Boba Tea by a long shot. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly, and it's a fantastic place to relax with a smoothie or enjoy some gelato after a day of walking. I can't wait to return!
This is a charming spot for cold treats, particularly if you're strolling from the train museum down the street. They offer an outdoor window for shaved ice, and inside, you'll find fresh gelato. We tried the gelato, and it was fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I also appreciated the shaded outdoor seating areas. It’s easy to miss because it doesn’t appear prominently in searches for dessert, ice cream, or gelato, but they absolutely serve delicious cold treats!
As I’ve mentioned in my other reviews of coffee shops across the country, we always make it a point to try the local coffee when we visit a new city. Durango, Colorado truly hits the mark! Magpies Newsstand is fantastic for picking up gifts and snacks while exploring downtown, but the specialty drinks are the real highlight! The kids enjoyed their Italian sodas, which were delightful, while my wife and I savored the Butterbeer Latte and the Reese’s Mocha. Both were perfect for a chilly day spent wandering around downtown.
It was great to pop in here. It's bustling with conversation and you see a great mixture of regulars and people passing through. The coffee is great and the staff is kind and helpful. One batista explained that their lavender syrup is made in house and that is probably why their honey lavender latte tastes a bit better than most coffee spots. Bonus points for a great waffle
On a tip from Melanie, at the Durango Downtown Ambassador kiosk, we visited Hermosa Cafe for a coffee snack. The food options in the cooler were pretty well picked through so we went with a Roasted Veggie sandwich. Coffee’s were tasty, and certainly on the stronger side. Staff was friendly. The neighboring shop had live music playing outside and he was AWESOME; very mellow and talented. It was the cherry on top of our morning here in Durango. Sadly, we are posting a one star deduction as the staff somehow forgot to make our sandwich and after 20 minutes we went in to check on it. About 10 minutes later it came out. We weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t a big deal. All in all good visit.
