Serious Texas Bbq North Durango, Co.

The layout of the restaurant was quite impressive. You walk in, place your order at the window, and they ring you up before handing you your food right then and there. There’s plenty of space to sit both inside and outside. I ordered the ribs along with a plain baked potato, but the loaded potatoes looked fantastic and seemed like a complete meal on their own. They offer a variety of meats to load your potatoes with. The staff was incredibly friendly and fun to joke around with. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. I would definitely return for more BBQ!

Per the sign out front, we tried the chicken sandwich and some sides. All of the food was on point, and the to-go margarita was amazing. Highly recommend. Did I mention it's a short 30 minute drive away from a ski resort??

We are full time RV?ers and weee excited to find Serious Texas BBQ in Durango. So we planned our day so we could eat an early dinner just before the busy evening crowd came (5p). Pros: both my wife ad I had sliced brisket plus she had the sausage. The brisket was just ok. It was not Texas quality but was tasty and mostly tender Cons: all sides. We got pinto beans and they were very dry. By the time we got to our table they were really dried out and the bean juice was VERY thick. Next I ordered cheesy potatoes. Not good at all. They too were not moist nor flavorful. Both sides were like they were from yesterdays dinner. We do have a high bar for bbq and bbq sides. My wife thinks it was due to the time we came but to me there is no excuse. Will not likely return.

This is one of the few restaraunts away from the chaos of downtown. It is a cafeteria style restaurant. We ordered Turkey, Brisket, pulled pork nachos, chicken nachos and mac cheese. The food was delicious. The venue has outdoor and indoor seating. They carry an awesome brand of creme soda and root beer.

Because of the hotel we stayed at, we had a coupon for a free drink. Made use of it. The brisket I got was freaking delicious. I also love their brand of root beer but I?m sure I?ll never be able to find it again. On a side note someone told us to avoid the ribs hard core because they were down right disgusting. I took that into account and avoided them. My mother in law got a pulled pork sandwich. She said the slaw was gross. Her mother, my grand mother in law, got some kind of cheesy potato batch that she seemed to enjoy. The inside is cute.
