The Mad Italian - Durban

We returned to this restaurant after many years, as our fasting limited our dining options in Durban. We chose an "old favorite," The Mad Italian. I ordered a Margherita pizza with extra olives, while my wife opted for a creamy zucchini pasta (the exact name escapes me). Both dishes were delicious, with exceptional flavors and freshness in every bite. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and appreciated the attentive service from our young waitress, who showed great professionalism despite being recently out of school. We look forward to coming back to try the meat dishes once our fast is over.

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised by the food here; I didn’t expect it to be so delicious. I might have to consider a trip to Italy if Italian cuisine is this fantastic, but honestly, I feel like I’m already experiencing that vibe at The Mad Italian. It truly captures the essence of a European restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful experience! Just a heads up, though—if you're on a tighter budget, this might not be the best option for you (though the food and experience could very well make it worth it).

The best pizza we've had in ages! Divine and delicious, you can really taste each ingredient, and you can tell it was made with care. We had a wonderful time enjoying the food and the service.

Nice setting. Food was good but the service was disappointing. We were a big group and if we had a waiter looking after us, I think he could have doubled there bar bill.
