Hallgarth Manor Country - Durham

We went for afternoon tea, and it was lovely. There was so much food that we even took some home! We had several teapots, and there were no extra charges, unlike other places I’ve visited. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. I would definitely recommend this for a delightful experience.

We had a lovely Christmas dinner here this week. We have been coming to this restaurant for a few years, and this was our best experience yet! The service was well-coordinated and unobtrusive. As a vegetarian, I spoke with Kelly in advance, and the team did an excellent job fulfilling my dietary requirements, ensuring that my gravy was vegetarian and my roast potatoes were cooked in vegetable fat. The mushroom Wellington was absolutely delicious! The flavors and presentation were spot on, and I could easily enjoy it again just thinking about it. Compliments to the chef! You can really feel how much effort has been put into this beautiful establishment, making it an excellent place to relax, wine, and dine. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend you check it out as well!

Would be highly recommended to stay here. a few problems with the teeth, but overall very helpful and friendly staff. Accommodation, eating and drinking were before place.

Stayed here last night for our 20th wedding anniversary, we held our wedding reception at the Hallgarth Manor on 1st August 1998! When I contacted the hotel saying I'd like to arrange the stay as a surprise for my husband, they kindly offered us a discount on our room. The special treatment did not stop there, we had a bottle of fizz delivered to our room and were served bucks fizz with our breakfast this morning. The staff could not have been more welcoming and all made us feel very special. The food was amazing and the hotel is stunning since the recent renovations. We stayed in the fabulous Sanctuary Suite. If we were getting married now, I would choose the Hallgarth Manor all over again and we hope to be back soon. Thank you so much xx

Fabulous place, great restoration done a little bit still on going. The staff are great make you feel very welcome like members of the family. Excellent food drink. The Manager is called Nicolas is a wonderful host go soon you will love it, Jules I are going again in January for our 1st anniversary can't wait.
