Excellent food, wonderful service, and an amazing history and ambiance.
Has this place changed hands? I wonder, because after many years of considering Tsang our number one Chinese restaurant, our experience last night was disappointing. After closing our winter home in Florida and coming back home, it was the first place I wanted to visit after a long day of travel. However, we were let down. Everything was dry and lacked flavor. The chicken was overcooked and bland, devoid of any sauce or seasoning. The lo mein noodles were so dry and tasteless that it felt like eating plain, stale spaghetti (and we weren't arriving late at night; we dined at 5:00 when the food should have been fresh). The crab rangoons were soft and unappetizing, lacking the crispy texture they should have had. I sampled everything, hoping to find at least one dish I could enjoy, but to no avail. I ended up throwing most of my meal away. It’s hard to believe this is the same place we've loved for years. We're really disappointed and won't be returning.
Last night we ordered the tsang trip to duxbury. the phone was promptly answered, our order was ready for picking up in a short time, and that is where the good news ends. the dishes we have ordered (a foo young and one of the home specialties dishes with pork, bark, garnelen lo my) were so fat. when we opened the container, we were not even sure that they had given us the right order. the special dish with pork and garnel had ham slices in it, which were cut into thick squares. pork was on the menu description of this plate, but not sink. the black discs were also there, so we were confused by these ham discs. it was a really strange addition to the court not at all free to the aromen. the bark in this court was unusable because it was so fat and chewing. I think I mentioned that fat. the eifond we ordered had a heavy one that had separated, and it was disgusting. also this dish had meat bark in it, that was very bad quality, chewing gum and fat. an order of eierrolles was included in our order, but we did not order any eier roles and we were not charged for them. they were the best we ate last night from tsang. did they know that the rest of the food was rough and that was our bonus price? this is our experience with tsang’s at more than one occasion: if we deviate from the order of fried foods and appetizers, then we are sorry. everyone seems to like tsang’s. I'm sorry to say it's lost to us.
Just tried this place for the first time. Got a little list finding it. GPS just kept saying arrived. It’s e third right at/after Eastern Bank. We got there with on 45 minutes to close. We were treated well and the food was served fast. Delicious ? o watch out form the hard inedible pork pieces in the rice.Delicious ?
