We are new to this small rural town and wanted to try something different. There isn’t much in the way of choices so we gave this place a try. My thoughts at first were “oh no, what did we get into…” but I was WAY wrong. I had the Chicken Enchiladas Verdes and my wife had the chicken fajitas; both with Charro beans. We’ve both had these dishes at other establishments so we were able to get a good comparison. The chicken in the enchiladas was cooked well and was shredded evenly. Meaning that there were no large clumps of un-shredded chicken. It wasn’t dry and it had a good flavor. My wife said the chicken in her meal had a flavor that reminded her of a restaurant we ate at on our trip to Mexico. They only gave her 2 tortillas but she was able to get more without trouble. The Charro beans were full of flavor. They had a little bit of spice but not enough heat to overpower the flavor. The look and feel is typical of a small town older establishment but the tables and silverware are clean and the food is good. There must be a reason they have been in business for over 45 years! They DO get VERY busy during peak times and the service can get a bit overpowered. However, this is typical of ANY restaurant so I would not advice going during peak times. I would definitely give them a try again and recommend them as a place to eat.
We came in for the breakfast tacos and were pleasantly surprised. The tortillas were very fresh, and they had just the right amount of filling. We especially liked the dried meat taco the meat flavor was very intense, yet the meat was still tender. Given the relatively cheap price of $4 $4.50 per taco, very reasonable as well.
Went home (Eagle Lake) and had a early meeting with Tony Tyler at Taco Tony 's for Breakfast. The service was personal and the food was Great. I plan to have my next E.H. Henry meeting at Tony 's. If you don 't know, now you know. Tony 's in Eagle Lake is the place to Go ?????.
