The Griffon Gastropub - EAST AURORA

We were eager to visit Griffon Gastropub after looking through their menu previously, which features a fantastic variety of food and drinks, along with positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. My husband ordered the Bison Burger and Miami Spice Fries, both of which were outstanding—cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor! I, on the other hand, chose the Caprese Chicken, which was quite the opposite; it was overcooked and dry, and the dish itself fell flat in terms of flavor. I'm looking forward to sampling more items, especially the burgers, but I can't recommend the chicken.

The fish fry, which three of us ordered, was decent overall. However, I found my beer-battered fish to be slightly undercooked, while my son's Cajun version was prepared well. The coleslaw definitely needs improvement, and the "Miami Fries" were disappointing, lacking the seasonings promised on the menu. On a positive note, my sister-in-law raved about the tots and sirloin tips dinner, and my brother-in-law enjoyed his chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, my wife was really disappointed with her Shabu-Shabu, describing it as overwhelming with white pepper flavor, and the noodles appeared to be straight out of a cup of Maruchin Soup. She had looked forward to her meal but barely ate any of it. In summary, half of us had a positive experience while the other half wished we had chosen a different place.

Atmosphere was fine. A little loud in the dining area for 7pm on a Saturday. Food was good drinks priced right and the waitress was on point. Only complaints is the size of the appetizers for the price you pay.

Our hostess picked up Menus and walked away with no conversation or instructions.. When we started to follow she said wait here I have to talk to someone Maybe 5 tables dining in the whole restaurant but it took about 15 minutes for our waitress to arrive The waitress put our order on someone else 's ' tab then we had to start over with ordering. I asked for no balsamic reduction and just olive oil and vinegar for my medium steak BLACK AND BLUE SALAD (can 't eat the sugar)Got well done steak, balsamic reduction drizzled on the whole thing and something that was supposed to be vinegar on the side but it looked like broth. Sons burger was past well done after ordering medium. Grandsons drink came 15 minutes after the rest of us got ours No call back until time for the check... when I told her that my medium steak was well done she said well it 's strips so it cooks faster . I said that you don 't cook it as long and she sort of shrugged it off with a sorry . I am surprised because the other locations are excellent!

Burgers and tenders were delicious! Sweet potato fries are a must!! Salad was just ok. Super cool atmosphere fantastic bar!
