Top Dexter - East Ayrshire

Really warm welcome, amazing food (been several times....pizza is fabulous) and good choice of soft drinks. One of our favourite places in our home town.

This is a small establishment but because of the pandemic they only carried out a take away service. I got a cheese burger and coffee. The burger was the fattest and most succulent I have ever tasted. None of your McDonald or Burger King here. The service was really quick and will come back here if in the vicinity and hopefully be able to sit in next time.

We visited twice once for tea and later for a snack lunch. Pot of tea was fine but baked items seemed limited to chocolate shortcake (not tried). Lunch of roll with sausage and chips was good plenty of chips. Special request of tuna and side salad was met and nicely presented. No brown bread available. Good: inexpensive; reasonable at what they offer. Could be improved: warmer welcome; acompaniments to tea/coffee.

I visited this wonderful café on the main street in Muirkirk. I stopped in for a meal during a long cycle and enjoyed a delicious roll, large coffee, and caramel shortcake. Everything was excellent and I will definitely be returning in the future.

On our way to Dumfries we stopped at Muirkirk, and the cafe, we had some quick lunch, but it was really nice, and really cheap as well, service was great and was served really quickly, but was lovely, not a very plush room to eat in or fancy, but if you are looking for a quick bit to eat, then it's ideal
