If you enjoy a little luxury and a bit of tradition then this is the place to experience a traditional English afternoon tea. It doesn't stop there, being open all day there is an excellent menu from which to chose other well presented delicacies to enjoy.
We called into the Tea Cosy last week when the inspectors called ! We had lunch which was very good . The men had a ploughman’s and we had jacket potatoes. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. We had to wait awhile because of the inspectors visit! A bowl of crisps was brought out and extra tea and coffee. We were horrified to hear that the inspector was downgrading the hygiene rating because they did not have the paperwork on the premises that day, the bin was plastic not metal and that an extractor fan was missing in the toilet !! I can honestly say that the Tea Cosy is well worth a visit and everything was very clean -you can see the kitchen and facilities when you walk through to the toilet. The ladies work very hard . We will definitely visit again
Excellent selection of cakes and cooked food freshly made on the premises. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
This little place is the finest cafe, or even establishment I have stumbled across in the last decade. I ordered a luxury hot chocolate, and I have never experienced such a well presented drink, it even came accompanied with marshmallow’s and a flake! The staff was also very friendly, even offering my friend Simon unlimited refills when it came to his saucer of tea! Couldn’t recommend more if you are longing for a cup of tea and cake ! My one criticism was the way in which you ordered the food and drinks, and I believe a simple counter instalment would make it more professional, other than that a fantastic addition to exmouth’s hospitable establishments
