Harlees Fish And Chips - East Dorset

Absolutely dreadful. We thought we'd try this, as our usual was closed for some reason. The fish and chips here were laden with grease. The mushy peas were inedible. Then fish wasn't cooker properly. So much so my fiancé refused to eat any of it. If it wasn't for the fact we bought it as a takeaway, we would be requesting a refund.

Ordered online on Monday evening, paid online and was given an order number and ETA for food. Waited until about 15 minutes after the ETA to call shop to check on way but just got answerphone so left a message. Had to order from elsewhere. Called shop following day to be told rudely by the owner that they aren't open on a Monday and that's why order was cancelledbut order was only cancelled at lunchtime the following day. Owner also told us it says closed on a Monday but website shows as open and order was accepted. Understand that mistakes can be made but the owner was dismissive and rude. Second time they have messed up for us but first time owner was keen to rectify, shame it was such poor service this time. Won't use again and would warn all against ordering online from them.

Following reviews on Find Me Gluten Free and being local, decided to try Ferndown Fish Chips as not had been to a chippy since being diagnosed coeliac 4 months ago. Called first and explained I was gluten free, it was no issue for them at all. Ordered cod and chips, it was lush. Thank you for catering us with coeliac

This tiny shop produces some fantastic take away food. The fish is superb and the service friendly. In my opinion these are the best chips in ferndown.

Absolutely delicious meal! Fantastic cod! Lovely chips finished off with curry sauce and mushy peas! Would highly recommend!
