We highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning. It was a delightful surprise for my elderly mother, who thoroughly enjoyed her treat.
Great prices and delicious food. The variety of plants is good, but it would be nice to see a greater selection of unique perennials to set you apart from other garden centers. Located near Harold Hilliers Arboretum, where I have been going since before it was taken over by the county council, I suggest expanding your offerings to include more unusual plants to attract customers looking for something different from the usual boring selection found at most garden centers.
The Garden Cafe, now operated by Hilliers Garden Centre, was difficult to find on TripAdvisor as it is listed under the previous owner John Browns. The facility is modern and clean, and the staff are hardworking. However, the food is expensive compared to other similar restaurants in the area. Our meal today consisted of Ham, Egg, Chips, Tea, Scone, and Cake. The chips seemed to be reformed frozen potatoes with poor taste, one egg was undercooked, and the tea was served in a small pot for two people which cooled rapidly with no additional hot water provided. There was no apparent person in charge to address our concerns. Overall, it was an expensive and disappointing dining experience.
Not good at all, poor food, poor choices gone down hill since it was taken over by Hillers..... would not recommend
Well we used to go every week to the old garden centre and its restaurant but now the prices have risen dramatically since the take over, for instance I loved the sausage sandwich which at was not cheap but not too bad,now that has gone...up to a whopping a rise and other menu items have risen around the same. We shall not be returning to this place at those prices
