However, it would be your pretty standard suburban pub, meaning that they really don't have a huge selection of beers on tap. However the staff were quite nice, and the inside was quite laid back and relaxing. It was okay, just not great.
I am giving this place a 5-star rating as a bar and entertainment venue on a Saturday night. I have never dined here, but the atmosphere was lively when I visited. The house band was playing energetic tunes, and the crowd was clearly enjoying themselves. From what I observed, this place caters to a slightly older crowd as there were no teenagers present.
The staff at the restaurant were very pleasant and our food arrived promptly. The nachos were larger than anticipated for an appetizer and tasted delicious, but the salt and pepper calamari was greasy and tough.
This is my local watering hole in Geelong, and I believe it's the best pub in town. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and lots of different entertainment on different nights. Oh, did I mention the food? Great food. These guys serve the best Chicken Parma in town, without a doubt. Check it out, you won't be disappointed! !
I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday for Trivia Night with my mom and cousins. I was tired from my recent trip from the US, but I had heard so much about how fun Trivia Night is from my family that I had to go. To my surprise, I found out that it was run by my old high school math teacher! We arrived early to have dinner and I was shocked to see the new interior of the Elephant. I have had many good memories here, including St. Patrick's Day celebrations in the past, so it was strange to see the changes. I ordered a chicken parmi, which was huge and came with salad and chips. I couldn't finish it all, as I'm not a big fan of chicken, but I ordered it for sentimental reasons. The trivia portion of the night was fun, and my family and I did pretty well. We were beaten by regulars at the bar who seemed to know every answer, probably because they were using their phones. Despite not winning, I was proud of our honest efforts.
