Seating uncomfortable. 4 staff and an empty restaurant yet we still needed to ask to be served, get own water, etc. No glasses provided for canned bottled drinks. For the price, we are expecting a decent sized tasting platter for the 6 of us, only to receive an undersized plate of limp salad and deep fried fingerfood. Main meals were ok. Nothing to write home about. Small for the price. The touted MAD dressing a tepid, milky, somewhat unsavory disappointment. Staff not terribly helpful, especially when we questioned the bill, on which we were overcharged. IMHO, not value for money.
Four of us friends walked along laneway and settled on Mad Kitchen for dinner. After spending $100 on food between us we went in to another restaurant as we were still hungry. My platter of $25 was miserly. One lot of 3 dumplings fell to bits on the fork spilling out small amounts of watery filling. The portion sizes are mean for the money. Annoyed.
We had been to see the Archibald and wanted something tasty other than the usual fare from the library cafe, and found this gem. Waitress and service v good, we had yummy yum cha and one of us had a special lunch meal of chicken curry, which he really liked.
This is a perfect spot in a lane way near the city center It’s food is fresh and well presented quick too The interior is cool
Food is nice, but not amazing. A bit overpriced for what you get you don't get much. I had the Mad taste plate $25) but was still hungry so had prawn and scallop dumplings $8.50).
