I really wanted to love this place. I go to the sister restaurant, Ritrovo a lot and liked the food there so much better. Service was awesome; so cheerful and helpful! But the food was amateur. I had a chicken prosciutto asparagus dish with linguine aglio…WAY too much butter and they used the finely minced, jarred garlic which was overpowering and I think has a funky flavor. My husband got veal Francese which was very tasty and perfectly cooked but swimming in butter and not a trace of lemon which is signature to that dish. His side of pasta with marinara tasted like jar sauce, too sweet. Drinks were good and our server rocked. Maybe stick with sandwiches and burgers?
Food was marginal and over priced. Wait staff was seemingly inexperienced. I completely understand todays employee shortage and people need to learn. My problem is; the last three or four times we have dined here something is always off . Either the food or the service is lacking. Never quite on point! The other issue is the noise, you can 't even hold a conversation. I used to love this place, now not so much.
Place was crowded at lunch, don't know why. Our orders were taken quickly but then we had to ask for our salads after a half hour wait during which we never was our waiter. He took our drink order brought the beverages and took our orders and we never saw him again, until another waitress told him we were waiting for the salads. The salads may have had 9 to 10 pieces of lettuce between them. We had onlt taken a first bite of salad when the meals arrived. All of the sides were barely tepid. We had to ask for dinner rolls, which were brought when we were nearly finished eating. The are no prices on the drinks menu, seafood entrees, or desserts. I had a glass of mediocre red wine which retails for 7 to 8 a bottle and paid 10 for a five ounce glass. The service was inferior the food nothing special and the prices were high for the quality of the food. Will never go back.
Being from out of Town I was looking for a Local Pub with food. What a find, great food an atmosphere !!!! I started with their New Clam Chowder which was superb . My main course was their Clam Strips which were great and mounds of them. You won’t go hungry with their portions. Not knowing the area they called me an Uber. Had a chatty Old Rhode Islander who topped off a wonderful evening. I highly recommend this place.
