Firstly the place is dark day and night, even my daughter who never comes out of her bedroom moaned it was dark. Nice outside sitting area. Not a great selection of good beers on tap. Now to the food, I had Ham, egg, peas and chips, the enemy had steak and ale pie, both were fantastic, so good we went back again for the same order (with me ordering 2 extra eggs as they was so good), her indoors pie was great. Third time we went we both had gammon and although the chips and egg were good the gammon was a bit tough(asked me for a fight). I all a good place to eat.
Not a 5 star hotel but we paid very little and got polite helpful staff, clean nice room and the hotel had good facilities and breakfast was lovely for £3 what more could you ask for. Do not listen to the bad reviews because for £60 a night you get a lot more than you pay for and will definitely be going back next time we are down that way.
Been today with family what a dive scruffy the food is expensive but cheap ****. It's full of scrubbers and **** heads. Not social distancing at all people all way to close and no masks. this place is good if your rougher than a ten Bob note and have Farrel kids
Treated some friends and some of my close family to a Sunday Carvery at The Anchor Hotel. T he food was realy well cooked, well served and very plentiful. All in all, really good value for money. Try it.
Called in on Sunday for a roast. It was only 6 pm but we were told only 2 roast beef left When it came it reminded me of a school dinner. Was tasteless, packet mash, tinned peas, frozen yorkies roast potatoes Won't be back
