We started with the delicious pate and mushroom starter, followed by fish and chips, house-made burger, and a children's meal of sausage and mashed potatoes. The food was fresh, tasty, well-presented, and portion sizes were generous. The fish was perfectly cooked with a light crispy batter, while the burger was huge and juicy. The chips were the correct type, not French fries. The service and hospitality were also fantastic. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
The dining experience and service at this place are outstanding. It is a pub with rooms above that are very clean and well-equipped. Additionally, it is conveniently located near the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre.
It was a sunny day, so we sat in the garden. There were four of us - two had steak, one had fishcake, and the other had lasagne. The portion sizes were too large, could have fed four more people; it was a waste of food. They really need to reduce the amount of food, as even a smaller portion would have been better value for money. The food tasted great, but none of us could finish what was on our plates. The pub was nice and the staff were friendly. We would go again, but next time we'll be sure to bring our appetites!
I don't know about the bad rating below, but we had the fish and chips and the ale-Pie and were both amazingly tasty super and a large part first-class fish would highly recommend
A totally lack luster experience. Shamefully inadequate food, steak and ale pie.. Hard as rock and tasteless, gravy like dishwater. Kids pizza obviously a ding-ding or seriously over cooked unable to cut the base! Having visited many other Bateman's pubs this was a real...let down. Mentioned the issues when it came to getting the bill, was just told oh everyone raves about it'. Obviously a lot of clients in with no remaining taste buds... Such a shame, could have been such a different experience!
