The restaurant is located in a lovely building with a beautiful setting. The menu offers a variety of traditional dishes prepared with high quality ingredients. On Sundays, they offer two roast options along with a few other dishes, including a vegetarian and fish option. There is also a nice selection of starters and desserts to choose from. I started with a seafood starter of crab, smoked salmon, and prawns with a seafood dressing and salad, followed by a generous portion of roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. The meal also included a good selection of nicely prepared vegetables. Children have the option of choosing from a kids menu with dishes like chicken nuggets and fish fingers made fresh in the restaurant, or having a small portion from the main menu at a reduced price.
We went for afternoon tea to celebrate my mum's birthday. It was beautiful. The sandwiches were delicious, with warm haggis balls, savory tarts, and kilted sausages to start, followed by scones and a great selection of bite-sized cakes and brownies. At only, it was a fantastic value. The service was great, and my mum even received a birthday card. I highly recommend it.
We had a fantastic meal with friends tonight at Tynehouse Kitchen. The fish and chips were amazing, and the raspberry torte was wonderful. The prices were excellent, and the surroundings were lovely, with great service. Thank you, Tynehouse Kitchen!
