I know every place says they have the 'best' pizza; but, the star tavern literally has the best pizza anywhere. It is thin, crispy, and full of flavor. Granted, it is much more of a dive bar atmosphere than a family friendly restaurant. Also, the customer service could use some work. The staff does not seem to be incredibly attentive.

This place must have the best pizza in NJ. If you dont believe it, go try it

Legendary pizza spot. Super thin crust charred perfectly at the edges. Excellent flavor and sauce. Really 4.5 stars as the beer selection is commercial swill. Not a craft spot. Service a bit gruff but always quick. In a bit of a restaurant/bar desert so a good and much needed option for the area. Often crowded as it is in some tourist books and has been highly rated for its excellent pizza. Have been about a dozen times often with kids and we always leave satisfied. Good salads, too.

I know everyone raves about their pizza. If you like thin crust pizza this is the place. Personally I don't prefer thin crust but the pizza was very good. Toppings were tasty and service was great. Packed when we went Saturday night but didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a table. A Jersey tradition. Must try.
