Piccolo Arancio - East Otis

No art on dining room walls just empty picture hangers everywhere, padded rundown leather chairs extremely squeaky, bread was just ok, fettuccine Alfredo heavy but pretty good as was my husband's bolognese over gnocchi. Bar had few guests as did the main dining area. This place has potential but I'm worried it won't survive without a makeover.

We went during a heat wave which was most unfortunate. The a/c must have been broken. It was so stuffy. Bordering on uncomfortable. Server was attentive. Food was fine. My meal was unevenly heated. Veal was warm (not hot) and the mashed potatoes were cold. Overall, the food was unremarkable and pricey.

Our server, Seth, was very professional. He knew when to leave us alone and when to come back. He knew the menu well and helped us make good decisions. The food wasn't great. My Caesar salad had little dressing, bad lettuce, few croutons. But last visit it was outstanding! My veal martini was leathery and the coating was mushy. But awesome mashed potatoes and oddly a delicious side of mixed greens. The fettuccine with shrimp was excellent!! I love the mood of this restaurant. It's very laid back, sort of a romantic ‘60s vibe. Definitely returning!

This is our go to restaurant. The food was fabulous. The service and staffing was abysmal. They rushed us. They had no bartender so the drinks were mediocre and not served classic (Old Fashioned was mixed poorly with a glass full of ice cubes... . The pear and elderflower martini was made incorrect because they ran out of elderflower, but it's a special. They weren't sure they had mint to make a mojito. The cappuccino maker was broken but then fixed, but the cappuccino was not good. We were not offered dessert. There was no one in there so they kept interrupting us to move us along. They kept making excuses and saying everything was due to staffing. I asked for a manager or the owner but no one was there. The food was still great, but I was embarrassed and apologized to my party multiple times. It was not relaxing or enjoyable. Our waitress was sweet, just very inexperienced. Sigh. I don't think we will have a next time.

Russell was wonderful as always but was stretched with the lack of servers with a full restaurant. The food was good but certainly different with new owners and the warmth and congeniality was certainly missing. Wine list was overpriced. Unfortunately, it's moved down on our rotation list.
