Captain D's - East Saint Louis

The catfish was good, the lobster rolls were amazing. Loved the bread balls that came with the dinner. Their sauces are all sooo good, too. And for a fast food place, I loved the option of veggies that you get as a side.

I hadn 't been there in years. The selection is massive now. I wasn 't too impressed by the old battered fish but the new Southern Fish was fantastic. Sides were all good, too. The restaurant is very clean and relaxing and the staff was welcoming and helpful.

Love the flounder. The green beans have a little too much salt. Baked potatoes are really nice. The fried shrimp is a little greasy.

I do like Captain D's. The salmon with rice, broccolli, fries, and breadstick is my usual. The salmon is a bit overcooked but it is a large piece. I am getting to were i can't eat a lot of greasy food. The new lobster bites are very good. i hope they keep them around for awhile. the fries are all crispity when they are hot. The breadsticks are like heaven. the salmon in a sandwich is also oh so good. yes i like going to the captain for a cheap somewhat fast meal.

How hard is it to get the sauce that's supposed to come on the fish?!?!?!? Very hard if you work for Captain D's in Cahokia! I went there a couple of times before for their Tilapia meal with Ginger Teriyaki Sauce (that's what's on the menu). It's a very good dish for $5.00 and a good alternative to a lot of the fried fish and shrimp. I order it the same way every time and everytime, I get no sauce. I complained to the company and the manager called me. She said they don't offer it because a lot of people don't like the sauce. So, she was supposed to have them ask the customer if they wanted the sauce or not. NOPE! they still don't do it right. I'm done. I went the other day and spent more time in line waiting for my sauce than I did getting my order in the drive thru.
