Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly crowd. It's a laid-back spot and the ideal way to unwind after a Friday, especially after a particularly long week, even if it was a short one due to Labor Day. This was my first visit, and I know I'll be coming back many times! I really appreciated how easy it was to relax and have a great time here. If you're in the mood for tapas with a fantastic selection of wines and bubbly, Madiran is the place to be. I tried the warmed olives and the bone marrow, and both dishes were outstanding. Even the sides served with the bone marrow were top-notch. There was live music, and since the venue has such an intimate vibe, the musician came over to the bar afterward to chat with me. Jim was wonderful! I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Jackie, who was extremely friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a delightful evening!
I absolutely adore this hidden gem! The ambiance is enhanced by smooth jazz, and the food is exceptional, paired with a wonderful selection of wine and beer. The vibe here is simply fantastic. Price per person: $30–50. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5. Highly recommend the Chardonnay, Charcuterie, and Lamb Lollipops!
Where do I even start? Everything begins at the top, and when a restaurant starts to falter, it often reflects its ownership. Fortunately, in this case, the owner is exceptional. We've visited a few times, and each experience surpasses the last. The French board was incredible, featuring an impressive selection of cheeses, pâté, jams, and pickles—expertly curated. The burrata was delightful, drizzled with a sweet glaze that had savory undertones. For the main course, I had the orecchiette pasta with sausage, pesto, and red peppers, and it was fantastic. The grilled octopus paired with summer corn and beans was equally perfect. I genuinely can’t say enough positive things about this place—I'd give it 10 stars if I could! I intended to take pictures of the food, but it was too delicious to last!
This place is a welcomed, refined but casual addition to Setauket's wanting, if not barren restaurant landscape. Nice ambience- European/ Grateful Dead inspired. Food is very good. Somewhat inconsistent portions, less so quality and prices. Some items are reasonably priced, some are a bit steep. Overall a nice wine bar with generally great food. Jazz on the weekends, which you won't find elsewhere, which is nice. Crowd is an older mix of bourgeoise locals.
