A friend recommended this place to me and I found it at the Bedok 85 hawker centre. This was the best vegetarian bee hoon I have ever tasted.
The restaurant appears a bit disorganized and lacking in hygiene. The piles of noodles by the window don't give a welcoming feel to customers.
This restaurant serves one of the best mixed bee hoon sets in town. The bee hoon is fragrant and peppery, and their sesame chili paste is a must-try. I ordered the small portion for only $2, with a larger portion available for $2.50.
This is one of the best stalls for bee hoon. Nothing fancy. Just very quickly prepared and great tasting bee hoon. You HAVE to get it with red chilli. This shop is very different from others with the way they prepare their red chilli- it's a sweetish sesame infused concoction that is amazing. Take that from someone who doesn't enjoy sweet foods for their main course and can't stomach spicy red chilli(curse of the supertaster). Only drawback is sometimes the toppings are sparse because the auntie prepares it with such speed.
I used to patronize Meow Xiang Vegetarian very often more than 2 decades ago. This is a typical Chinese vegetarian hawker stall that serves the traditional 'Zhey Mee Hoon ' early in the morning. And yes, they open very early as I used to buy from them around 4am in the morning! There is a standard modus operandi of ordering and the process is very efficient due to the long queues during peak period. You can also watch a 'spectacular show ' orchestrated perfectly by the Auntie while she picks the different ingredients for the Mee Hoon. You would be sure to see long queues during 初一 十五 or during the weekends. Be sure to check it out as this is probably one of the best vegetarian stalls in Bedok North that serves delicious vegetarian mee hoon. One of the con would be the typical serving of mock meats in traditional Chinese vegetarian stalls, but the mee hoon is really good! One of my favorite breakfast location if I am around Bedok North area. I have also seen them do catering for Buddhist societies and temples when there are events and activities.
