In the morning we had breakfast which was quick and tasty. We had a drink before we went out on our second evening and had a nice chat with a few of the locals. All in all great experience, clean and tidy, nice out door area and the staff especially Mary were fantastic. I would highly recommend stay here, perfect for a nice weekend away.
We stopped in for lunch whilst in town visiting the antiques fair. Excellent food, Roland made us all very welcome and the food was lovely. Great choice, very well prepared, nice surroundings we’ll definitely be back.
We had 'Sparkling Afternoon Tea ' and really enjoyed it. The staff were superb very friendly/welcoming very chatty knowledgeable. The coffee was very nice, freshly made and refreshed if/when requested. There were plenty of sandwiches and lots of cake cream. Our glasses of 'Fizz ' were tasty bubbly. There is free on-site parking for about 10 cars to the rear of the hotel.
The over all appearance was run down. Rooms were dusty and had black mildew over window and Bathroom ceiling. Bed was old cheap and not confortable. Definately not worth the £99 per night price tag Would suit guys working away during the week if the price was about £35 per person. Staff were freindly. Would not go again or recommend
Had a really warm welcome, Sunday lunch was absolutely fantastic, starters of pate, mains of beef and turkey delicious and vegetables perfectly cooked. Other half is picky but no problem, a grilled chicken breast was offered and was perfect. Deserts are a treat if you can find space!!! A gem of a place and will make this a regular visit.
