We went there for lunch with a couple of restless kids, and were physically bumped by servers, to let us know that we were not welcome there. One was a young Chinese girl with long straight hair pulled up into a pony tail and the other was an older Chinese man in his 50’s-60’s. He hit me on the way to set up an empty table with paper napkins, plates and bowls, as I picked up my child to leave, and he turned around to see my reaction. This was definitely done out of spite, as it was purposefully executed, the restaurant was HALF EMPTY and there would be plenty of choices to place future customers. There was no need for haste, such that I would end up elbowed. Instead of respecting the existing paying diner in front of him, he would rather express his self-importance by conveying how busy he was. By pushing me, he was saying “get out of my... read more
I came here with three other friends around midday for a meal and yes, the restaurant was busy but without lines queueing out the door. Despite this, the service was absolutely appalling with a waiter who was visibly impatient and started rolling his eyes and tapping his pen on his paper pad while my friend was telling him the order. To add to this, the quality food was lacking with hot and sour soup that had way too much pepper and the balance for the majority of the dishes was completely off. It was difficult to gain the attention of any staff members to inform them that they had forgotten one of our dishes of which they finally corrected but topped the quality service by dumping it on our table. To add to the experience, a lady rushed by with a trolley with used dishes and cutlery and rams it into my friend's chair, shouts impolitely and runs off once again as if this routinely happens. The food was the equivalent of very poor food court quality food and the service was well below par. One positive would be that the price was cheap for the set menu which is probably the reason this restaurant stays alive. Maybe every single one of their decent staff was on leave on this date (given there are decent reviews above mine) but based on my experience, they are never getting mine nor my friend's service again.

One of my local restaurant for Chinese food. I like their set menu which I don't have to think what to eat. Usually I go set A Staffs are friendly
If you fancy getting treated badly by the arrogant wait staff and paying for it, please give this place your custom. We went there for lunch with a couple of restless kids, and were physically bumped by servers, to let us know that we were not welcome there. By pushing me, he was saying “get out of my way”, but took it into the physical realm which is even worse. He even said “Hurry Leave” in Cantonese. I don’t know whether he knows that I understood him or not, but that is extremely bad behaviour. The food is fine, but I would not go there again. It’s not cheap and instead of getting a nice dining experience, you pay for horrendous treatment from horrid people. I think this must be “normal” practice here, as more than one server exhibited this behaviour. They must think they are better people, and born of royal blood perhaps. The work culture and behavioural “norms” exhibited at Peking Seafood Restaurant in Eastwood creates a toxic environment for paying diners, which you would be well advised to avoid.
